The Problem

PCD was called to design-build a solution to outfit a newly constructed building at Roseland University Preparatory campus. Their campus includes a “Big Room” space where the students can gather to see presentations in a large theater-style open-space room, as well as AV installations throughout various classrooms. The open floor plan typically presents challenges for an AV system.

PCD’s Approach

PCD designed a system to allow great audio coverage for the open space and a powerful new laser projector which displays on a painted wall for a great visual impact in presentations. The classrooms were a simple HDMI input but also wirelessly present content from the teacher’s laptop. Each classroom is outfitted with 84” display for long term life expectancy and high-quality image reproduction.

PCD’s Solution

Equipment installations in the Big Room include a Digital Projections E-Vision 8,500 lumens laser projector and switcher, wireless Barco Clickshare to wirelessly present the content from the teacher’s laptop, and a full range of JBL AM5215/95-WH two-way loudspeakers on the stage proscenium wall to allow good sound coverage throughout the open-space floor plan. The new AV system also includes a millwork equipment rack next to handicap seating, and a Denon Pro DN-500BD blu-ray player in the rack for playback of DVDs, and two Shure ULXS124/85-G3 wireless microphones. Each classroom is outfitted with a Panasonic commercial grade 84” display for long term life expectancy and high-quality image reproduction. A Barco Click share was deployed in each classroom so the teacher can wirelessly connect to the display for presentations.

The Result

PCD optimized sound in the open-space floor plan at RUP’s newly constructed campus and is proud to implement the latest AV technology to further assist the student body.
