The Problem

The Modesto area was lacking theatrical facilities to attract live music and tours to the region. The mayor of Modesto appointed a team to research local and national venues in order to propose a new Performing Arts Center with the most up to date theatrical Sound, video & communications systems.

PCD’s Approach

PCD provided and installed the audio-video systems as designed by Knudsen-Benson consultants, at the two theaters within the Gallo Center for the Performing Arts. Both theaters were outfitted with state of the art JBL and Crown sound reinforcement systems to comply with various touring artists and their high-quality sound system demands.

PCD’s Solution

Installation of Meyer Sound Constellation acoustic system, custom-programmed to create a variety of acoustic environments to support operatic performances to create a variety of acoustic environments to support operatic performances. Video system is based on an eight input Extron MLS 608D switcher. Audio is reinforced with Shure ULX-S wireless mics with Beta58A capsules. The Education Studio features a Stewart tensioned 207″ X 116.5″ projector screen.

The Result

Whether an intimate show in the small theater or a full band performance from a first-rate act in the main theater, this system delivers. It has had a successful run attracting national theatrical and musical acts as well as promoting arts education in schools by continually funding grants for underprivileged school children to attend a variety of performances.
